About Tenki

We started Tenki on the belief that compute is the new digital oil. As global demand for compute power accelerates, scalable and tradable compute is set to become one of the most valuable markets of our lifetime. Our goal is to become the leaders in harnessing, refining, and trading compute-unlocking a new asset class for the world’s most important digital resource.

Tenki connects producers of compute with a growing universe of consumers. Producers get transparent pricing, predictable settlement, and access to global demand. Consumers get simple, developer-friendly access to high-quality compute at competitive prices.

We’re currently building the consumer side, starting with GitHub Actions, enabling developers to offload workflows directly through Tenki. Soon, we’ll expand to a broad suite of cloud services like Virtual Machines, Databases, AI Agents, and more.

As we expand, our focus will broaden beyond consumers to include the supply side, enabling producers to offer compute through Tenki and later the development of financial instruments that support a more efficient and tradable compute market.

About The Role

We are looking for a Networking Engineer to join a small but talent dense team building the future of compute markets. While this role is remote-based, you are required to reside or relocate to one of our hubs: LATAM (GMT-3) or Philippines (GMT+8). This Position will report to the Platform’s Engineer Manager.

In this role, you’ll help build the core infrastructure that powers Tenki’s. You will:

  • Manage and maintain datacenter firewalls.

  • Configure and support L2/L3 networking, including VLANs, LAG/LACP, port-channeling, MLAG (if applicable), and routing policies.

  • Operate and configure SONiC or similar network operating systems on ToR switches.

  • Build and maintain VXLAN/EVPN fabric for scalable multi-tenant networking.

  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP, including external peering and internal routing.

  • Monitor and maintain network health, performance, and reliability across our small-to-medium scale environments.

  • Assist in designing and deploying new racks, switches, routing paths, and cross-connects.

  • Ensure networking setups are repeatable and well-documented so we can expand into multiple datacenters consistently.

  • Work with server, virtualization, and cloud teams to ensure network integration for Kubernetes, KVM, CEPH, and other platforms.

  • Maintain firewall rulesets, NAT policies, VPN tunnels, and security zoning.

  • Help implement network redundancy, failover planning, and capacity scaling.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts during network incidents and perform root cause analysis.

About You

  • You have hands-on experience with modern overlay networking technologies (e.g., VXLAN, WireGuard) and understand how they support scalable multi-tenant networks.

  • You’re comfortable working with packet flow concepts at L3/L4 and have basic familiarity with tools or technologies that help inspect or influence traffic paths.

  • You’ve operated and troubleshot production datacenter networks and are confident working with routing, switching, and connectivity issues.

  • You understand how to build solutions that are reliable and maintainable, balancing short-term needs with long-term stability.

  • You document your work, create clear operational procedures, and ensure others can easily follow or maintain what you build.

  • You can work independently in environments where priorities shift and not everything is fully defined.

  • You take ownership of problems—investigating deeply, delivering practical fixes, and improving them over time as requirements grow.

  • You communicate clearly and work well with other engineering teams to align on solutions and trade-offs.

  • You are familiar with Linux networking concepts, configuration, and tuning beyond the basics.

  • You care about network performance and reliability and enjoy solving bottlenecks or latency-related issues.

  • You understand BGP and general internet routing principles; experience with datacenter L1/L2 operations is a plus.

We are building a startup within a startup. Tenki was born within Luxor as we expand our vision from mining compute to generalized compute. Learn more about how we work and our principles here.
