About the Opportunity

This is a unique and high-impact opportunity at one of the fastest-growing global cryptocurrency exchanges. As a Specialist in KYC Operations, you will be an integral part of our CDD team, responsible for reviewing customer cases flagged through our onboarding systems for potential money laundering, terrorist financing, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) violations, and other AML- or fraud-related concerns. Prior experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and sanctions compliance is essential for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of incoming customer onboarding cases, ensuring KYC principles are applied consistently in accordance with the Company's KYC policy and customer risk assessment framework.
  • Review KYC documentation submitted by customers, leveraging internal validation tools and reputable external sources to verify AML-related materials.
  • Request appropriate CDD/EDD documentation from customers to ensure the onboarding process is completed in full compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Follow up on outstanding CDD/EDD requests, ensuring timely communication is maintained within relevant Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Investigate potential matches generated by the Company's screening application, assessing customers against sanctions lists, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) databases, and adverse media sources, and taking appropriate action on findings.
  • Report AML/CDD issues and escalate matters to management as required.
  • Deliver a high standard of service to customers and internal stakeholders, handling all queries professionally and escalating where necessary.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the CDD function, including maintaining and updating operational procedures.
  • Support and manage ad hoc projects as they arise.
