Motion Designer [Contract-to-Perm]

The Role

Seeking a highly creative and experienced Motion Designer to help shape the visual identity of Monad Foundation’s video media. You’ll play a key role in producing high-quality motion graphics, animations, and video content that both educate and entertain by making complex ideas clear, engaging, and memorable.

What You Will Do

• Visual Design & Creative Direction

  • Create innovative, effective visual design for major Monad Foundation projects.

  • Contribute to the creative direction of major video marketing initiatives.

  • As a member of the Media Team, you’ll collaborate closely with videographers, growth, design and ecosystem teams to deliver animated content that meets brand and campaign goals.

• Motion Graphics & Animation

  • Develop motion graphics for logo animations, transitions, explainer graphics, and media team visuals.

  • Work fluidly across both 2D and 3D animation styles.

  • Package educational content tailored for platforms including YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.

• Production & Execution

  • Handle video editing and sequence assembly, ensuring consistency and quality.

  • Design livestream and podcast layouts, branding for events and initiatives, and graphics for content.

  • Create standalone animated video content using motion design and AI tools.

  • Produce animated UI walkthroughs and product demos for Monad Native applications and Monad Foundation product experiences.

• Creative Collaboration & Growth

  • Stay up to date with trends in motion design, animation, and production tools.

  • Bring creative ideas to the table and help push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

  • Contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative culture while balancing multiple concurrent projects.

Example Deliverables / Day-to-Day Work

• Animate educational explainers for Monad and Pipeline channels.

• Design livestream graphics and dynamic lower-thirds for shows like Monad in the Morning.

• Build animated visual identities for events: conferences, hackathons, or online campaigns.

• Develop short, platform-native motion clips for X, TikTok, and Instagram.

• Collaborate with ecosystem teams to produce animated UI product demos.

• Create storyboards and animatics to pitch video concepts before execution.

• Apply AI-assisted tools to speed up workflows and unlock new creative directions.

Who You Are

• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci).

• Strong foundation in design principles: typography, layout, color, motion

• Proven ability in storytelling and translating conceptual ideas into compelling visuals.

• Familiarity with all stages of the design and production process (ideation → design → animation → presentation → delivery).

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

• Collaborative, adaptable, and culture-fit mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

• Located in or able to generally adhere to EST time zone work hours (remote).

• Crypto-native: understands crypto culture and main characters.

• Knowledge of additional tools: Blender, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, Figma, or Adobe XD.

• Experience with sound design, storyboarding, or animatics.

• Scripting skills (e.g. JavaScript for AE, Python for Blender).

Portfolio Expectations

Candidates should provide a portfolio that demonstrates:

• A range of 2D and 3D animation work, ideally in both explainer and brand storytelling contexts.

• Strong logo, title, and transition animations.

• Examples of video editing and sequence assembly showing pacing, rhythm, and narrative flow.

• Educational or technical content presented in a clear, engaging way.

• Creative projects that showcase design fundamentals (typography, layout, color).

• Bonus: work relevant to crypto/web3 culture, livestream/podcast design, or interactive UI animation.
